Very happy to let you all know that the exhibition that opened this week has gone exceptionally well. Entitled “Friends and Colleagues” I have some 19 or so images (and as a personal project this will most certainly be on-going) that as the name suggests features folk who I am honoured to call BOTH friends and colleagues.
The aim of this was to show folk doing things that they feel defines them, whether it be work or pleasure. This of course was massively pleasurable for me and will definitely be an ongoing project – mostly because I love environmental portraiture. This can be extremely easy (in terms of coming up with concepts) but then really difficult when it comes to the actual shoot in terms of controlling the environment. One of the shoots for example took place one early morning in the rain (i shot a cyclist using a bridge to keep the kit safe) and another involved caving! This last was possibly my most challenging shoot to date and I have to say that I took far too much kit into really extreme conditions – but didn’t damage a thing. Equally the image created is one of my favourites to date.
For those of you who are unable to see the prints I thought you would appreciate seeing the entire series online. Follow this link therefore to see a Flash gallery.
